The 24 year old Korean American has for several years now been breaking the mold as an Asian model for high profile runway shows and major brand campaigns but still not much is known about her as a person. “People’s Inside with Paek Ji Yeon” sat down with Hye Park recently and found out her thoughts on plastic surgery, the model life, and being a young bride.
Highlights:
“There was a period during my early modeling days that my ‘asian’ looking face bothered me to the point that I seriously contemplated plastic surgery. During that time I came across a model in a magazine whose distinct ‘asian’ look was so alluring and powerful that I instantly changed my mind about my insecurities with my own looks. I realized then that you don’t succeed as model by or because of your looks but instead through passion.”
“Incredulously, even though exercising obviously should be a given in the life of a model, I still hate it. It is to the point that my husband (a professional tennis coach) who initially volunteered as my personal trainer, has had to give up on me.”
“My hope is that I can contribute in paving the way for Asian models so that those who come after me will have more doors opened to them.”
The full interview with Hye Park can be seen on the September 6th airing of “People Inside with Paek Ji Yeon”.

She’s so fab. That’s not a very flattering pic of her, but the first time I saw her walk an Anna Sui show, I thought she was drop dead gorgeous. Very versatile model, glad she decided to forgo plastic surgery.
Yeah, that last pic is def not flattering.
I like her- embracing ASIAN BEAUTY. Teach them stars who plastic themselves then try to go international… no ones interested, why would they want something that’s trying to imitate them?
She looks so different in each photo 0_0 maybe that’s what they call versatitiy, or photoshop lol. Yeah good for her, power over plastic lol
who cares about her face check out her legs. freakin long. or maybe its just because im short.
Finally a Korean on the celeb map who thinks otherwise on Plastic surgery.
I am so proud of her!
I am an Asian and very proud to be one. What makes us unique is our doe-eyes and round face. I hope Koreans (specially) should start appreciating their features more and bring out their individuality through their personality and stop depending on ephemeral looks.
Leave plastic surgery to those who actually need it.
Whole lot of Asian celebrities and people do not need plastic surgery. What is scary is people go to the point of changing their whole face structure, chin implant and face restructure! Nose job and double eyelid surgery is just on the platter.
I wish people worked to fill the void on their empty inner self spiritually than go on a plastic rampage.
She’s like SOO BIG in fashion industry, one of the ground breaking asia model to entered high fashion (along with han and du juan)..
Sadly she’s consider unpretty and not so famous in korea…
Its just SAD..
Korea = land of plastic fantastic.

Are you sure that last picture is her?
Cause in the pictures before, her nose bridge is really prominent while she doesn’t even have a nose bride in the last one.
