T-ara Too Ugly?
Nah. Too derivative, maybe. In preparation for their August debut, T-ara released their fourth set of concept photos, and netizens are overreacting as usual, saying the pics are ugly and and make the girls look plain. Now, it’s not the most attractive look, but it’s not hideous either. It’s like, a less refined version of ‘Nobody’. Besides, all the outcry is getting the group publicity, which they need and Mnet surely wants. Also, well you know, variety, spice of life. They’re giving people options.

Well, whatever concept they go with, I hope it’s original, because at this point I probably couldn’t pick the members of T-ara, Kara and Brown Eyed Girls out of a line-up, and that’s not a good thing.

Enough with these pictures they can have a thousand concepts more and I won’t care, I just want to hear their songs. After all they’re a singing group, not exactly models.
it seems like they’re just vomiting whatever concept, i still don’t get what these pictures are suppose to prove.
they already have enough photos for 3 albums. i really don’t know what mnet is doing.
these girls are beautiful despite the bad haircuts. the bowl/mushroom haircuts really bother me….feel like it’s so late year. now it’s more like a girly bob (?) than a bowl/mushroom. like han hyo joo or gu hye sun.
but then again, no matter what concept they come out with, it will have trouble competing with all the other girl groups with established concepts.
So far the biggest thing that bothers me most is their name. I don’t like the way it looks, why couldn’t it just be Tiara? When I read “T-ara”, I read it as “tara” with a stilted sound between the “t” and “ara” and it sounds stupid. :s
There are so many weirdly spelled for-no-reason goup names. I like something that I’ll know how to pronounce when I come across it for the first time.
I just hope they come out with some good music because so far I know that they have some great vocalists in this group.

The Taemin haircut isn’t exactly flattering on them but they’re pretty girls with great vocals (they’re song “Good Person” from the Cinderella Man OST really blew me away). So far I like the black and white photos the best; they kind of have a vintage-y vibe. :) I’m actually looking forward to their debut.
add least there trying something new their next look would be a rip off of 2NE1 and 4minutes crazy wannabe back from 80’s pop hip hop look with big jackets and high tops to match.K-pop has a hard time keeping it real simple.

i really do not get caught up in the whole concept thing.. where i’m from, concepts don’t matter, the music does.. they are really talented, so it all depends in the direction their company geares them.. so far i like what i have heard & seen.

How the heck would people say they’re ugly just because of some wigs and bad (intentionally?) make-up, when the other 2 sets (hot black &white) and innocent were released just days before?
Their concept should be the Black & White style, that’s the set that was released on the 7th, the day reserved for their unveiling.
Also, T-ara will have an original debut during the variety show Golden Fishery, and the next day they’ll have their first stage on M!Countdown, followed by all the other music shows afterwards.
I hope the song matches their great vocals, and don’t fall into the generic pop. Also, there better not be any voice alteration, that would be moronic on MNet’s part.

The T-ara name is a nice touch, it’s just like reading K.Will, but in one motion. The reason why they didn’t go for Tiara is the same reason 2ne1 couldn’t go for 21: the name was already taken.
JiYeon can’t be in SeeYa because she’s too young and her vocals are mediocre when compared to the powerhouse that is Kim YeonJi. If anyone has the vocal ability to get into SeeYa it would be Ji Ae, the former leader of T-ara.
i like number two cause it looks like their first set of concepts photos from back in the day and remains me of the Good Person MV which sets their style. they are serious young women (at least that’s the image i got from the first single)
