The inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center have concocted something new: They dance to Super Junior’s latest, “Sorry, Sorry.” The inmates have danced to various hit songs in the past, including Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” Flo-Rida’s “Low,” and even a track from Slumdog Millionaire’s soundtrack, “Jai Ho.” These guys are extremely fun, and hey, dancing to famous songs is a pretty nice way to pass your time at a detention facility.
Watch them do their latest with “Sorry, Sorry”:
I have a huge fear of clusters and watching this ridiculously large group of people dance to Super Junior is a little bit like a worst nightmare come true. Imagine if Super Junior multiplied to the nth degree, this is what you’d get!

Guys dancing to WG in drag!!!!
AMAZING!!!!
This has to perhaps be the
most creepy/awesome thing
I have ever seen!!
I think that they are reaaaaally bored ! …
I don’t get it. If they’re in jail, shouldn’t they be paying the price for whatever crime they did? Not dancing…
or maybe i’m being harsh? IDK..
LOL
filipinos really love to dance don’t they XD
(pinoy herself)
haha very odd… but funny XD
Edwina,
I can’t say for sure, but even inmates get outdoors exercise time, and according to the Wiki entry:
“Byron Garcia, the official security advisor to the Cebu government who was assigned as head of the prison by Gwendolyn Garcia, governor of Cebu Province is credited for starting a program of choreographed exercise routines for the inmates.[1][2] The prison is best known worldwide for their version of Michael Jackson’s Thriller video. They have followed that with many other dance routines of popular songs. [3]Following Jackson’s Death in 2009, they perfomed a tribute to Jackson in front of hundreds of spectators at the prison.”
I think it was totally awesome :)
Some of them can really dance and I hope that it showed them some hope and will to change their lives :)
Even though I don’t know them or what they have done to be in there in the first place, I wish them all the best, it’s never too late to change :)
HAHA gee, I was really touched i think.
same population as suju..oh wait, suju have one less member; d prisoners have a member more.
jks
I hope that this doesn’t send the message that prison is fun……
Ahhh…i see, thanks for info! I had no clue… XD
@ Edwina
maybe this is their punishment ? LOL.
Can you imagine the guys at San Quentin dancing in unison. Message for today guys “shake” don’t “shank”!
I first saw the Michael Jackson’s Thriller video they did on FOX TV news and I’ve been looking for the video since then. Now I get to see the full length…thanks.
I think they’re awesome.
kewl.
hahahah yeah ive already seen these guys (im filipino) i found these entertaining xD
lol this is so awesome.
i wonder who teach them …
I think i saw Kibum….injured my ass, he just wanted to hang out in the Philippines, and i totally expected Kim Heechul to make an appearance, right at the end.
LOL! Oh wow! This is awesome!
Woot! Go Cebu! ^^
Come to think of it, they seem to have more of a life compared to some netizens who do nothing but obsess about their most loved/hated celebrities.
Oh yeah, prisoners look like a lot of fun to hang out with! What kinds of criminals does this facility hold, exactly? I’m guessing the non-violent kind, since the spectators are right next to the criminals…
I wonder if that’ll make a good pick-up line when they get out “Hey, baby, I was in the CPDRC dance crew! We were internationally famous!”
I’m curious if the shapes they were making spell something or whatnot…
if only they perform GEE. hehehe!
just an info…. jail here in the philippines is so crowded….
if you become a prisoner here your not even treated as a human being… its one of the worse place here… because the government doesn’t do anything about it… n the justice system here is so slow… not all the cases of the inmates are being process because of lack of resource.. even their basic necessity cannot be provided by the government…
that’s why in cebu.. they used the videos to get notice…
n people all over the world started giving donations… especially filipinos who worked abroad..
its a sad reality that is happening here in the country…
n there are a lot of inmates who are over 70.. n yet their cases where not being process…
“Imagine if Super Junior multiplied to the nth degree, this is what you’d get!”
LMAO
freaky.
not getting involved in the moral aspects of them being prisoners.. it seems great that they’re using their time productively- this is def better than them being infamous for being the most violent prison or something like that
and some of the guys are pretty good dancers/actors!
but you know that if suju multiplied they would never be caught dead wearing such a hideous shade of orange (ok sorry lame jokes end here :)
except the people watching in the ’sorry sorry’ one.. are they on a school excursion or something? o___O hmmm
oops sorry obviously didnt watch the ‘jai ho’ one before my comment.. says that they do a monthly public perf :D
they did a BIG BANG’s LIES too. looks like even prisoners from the Philippines loves kpop too. :)
this just only shows that they can be changed.. that they can be disciplined. teaching a large number of people (prisoners) is really tough. so KUDOS! to the people behind this..^^
123grr — I couldn’t agree more.
I dunno if some of the comments here are sarcastic or just plain rude, but I think that dancing to songs are faaaaaaaaaaaaaar better than just staying inside their prison cells beating each other up or just thinking of how to get back at some people…
It’s also a divertional activity since like what doesn’tmatter said, it’s too crowded inside, and being inside their cells are just going to bore them and might just make them think of something bad.
And yeah, I’m proud to be a Filipino (who loves kpop)! And I wouldn’t back down on trying to defend my fellow Filipinos anytime. :)
Great! I didn’t know that KPOP already invaded our rehabilitation center. A good dance exercise for the inmates!
