DBSK’s Love Is Deadly
Because this story was 50% Jpop and 50% Kpop I was a little hesitant about reporting on it. I know this happened a few days ago; but it serves as a perfect example to demonstrate how dangerous Idol love can be. No one is immune from the scorn, no matter how innocent.
Okay so, on July 28 a young Jpop idol by the name of Atsuko Maeda (18) expressed her “fan girl” love for DBSK member Yunho (23) on her personal blog. In her blog she said, “Yunho is a tall, thoughtful man. When the first trading card to commemorate THSK was released in a bookstore, I immediately went to get it. I really like him.” Well you can image after that loaded piece of erotica hit the net, Japanese DBSK fans lost their ever-loving minds! …
(A little Background Info : Atsuko is a member of the “akiba idol” group AKB48. The group was specially formed back in 2005 to cater to the “otaku (those with obsessive interests)” market of Japan and beyond. This group is not only famous because of their target audience, but also because it is made up of 48 members who are split up into 3 teams, Team A, B, and K. -Think Morning Musume on steroids )
… So anyway, after reading Atsuko’s comments female Japanese THSK fans ran to their nearest music store, bought the idol’s CD’s, photobooks, and posters and immediately destroyed them. Uhm, so in order to hurt this girl’s feelings you become anti-fans by purchasing her products and wasting your own money by trashing them moments later?
Now as a non DBSK fan I see nothing evil or slutty about the Atsuko’s comments. She sounds just like any other fan girl with love for an idol group member. I believe the hate comes from the fact that as an idol, she actually has a chance of coming in contact with other idols, including one’s she fantasizes about like Yunho.
……-I may or may not regret this later, but a few months ago I fell under the spell of an AKB48 single from 2007. It’s called “The Love That I Looked Down Upon“. It’s about teen suicide and the manner in which these tragedies are handled by adults and the media. Give it a listen……..
well, all they did was increase her album sales, so i encourage them to go and buy more…as long as the money comes in and nobody gets hurt, all i see is a winning situation for the girl.

First of all, I think this rumor has been disproved already. And it’s as old as moldy cheese
Second of all, I agree with some of the above comments that if you’re going to report on DBSK, then at least report on the most pressing matter right now that’s reeking havoc in the DBSK communities. :(

I want to read thoughtful article about DBSK. What was REALLY officially confirmed. What was REALLY said. Correct translations. I don’t care about rumours about Junsu being bullied, I want to know what’s in their contracts and are they fighting for side business or for payment or both – but exact info, because now it’s just a fan wave of bs.
It will be a pity if they end like all other groups that left SM. Bet, Shinhwa’s fans said “Shinhwa has a huge fanbase, they don’t need SM”, too. And HOT. And FTTS. Duh.

The kpop fandom has been in havoc all day and I’ve not even seen an article about your favorite 2NE1 winning mubank again or the fact that 3/5 of DBSK is trying to sue SM for freedom.
I usually prefer j-rock or jpop bands as most jpop girl groups are simply project groups and are just there for the purpose to get the members famous so they can move on and lets be honest compared to kpop boybands very few jpop boybands can hold a candle to them.

All of asia is freaking out over 3/5 of dbsk vs. SM and you guys haven’t written a single thing about it.

As for the article, I feel really bad for the girl. I have the highest respect for artists who express their admiring of DBSK or DBSK members. It’s time for a reality check for some fangirls (and fanboys of AKB48). You’re not going to marry them. Get over it.

just so everyone knows its not a TVXQ vs TVXQ fight its a SM ent. vs. TVXQ.
and i dont blame them for suing, SM ent is known for its “slave contracts” and asburdly low pay (ex. HOT)
considering how popular DBSK is in asia, i really hope they win and get the money they deserve

Okay… this may seem serious seems DBSK are.. big. But have you not seen the recent more serious articles Seoulbeats have been posting? Honestly, I find the story of Eugene Park that Seoulbeats posted more of a serious case.

Actually, I don’t think it’s true. She didn’t profess her love for DBSK’s yunho till recently. This incident happened 2 years ago…so unless big east are psychic/mind readers I don’t think this incident is over yunho.
I’ll remember this in case I become a jpop or kpop artist and would like to top the sale records.
