Transformers Stars Piss Off Korean Fans

“Oh, HELL, no!” Was the resounding sentiment of fans that waited in the cold, wet weather at the “Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen” special screening.

Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and Michael Bay, were late for a special screening of the film by two hours.  The next day they were half an hour late for a press conference to promote the film and some reporters staged a walk out. Eventually, they were able to get on with the shindig but people still have a sour taste in their mouthes about the whole situation. I say get over it, move on, stuff happens.

On a brighter note however, Michael Bay insisted to the production company that Seoul, Korea be a stop on the promotional tour after the response to the first “Transforers” film. I know I’ll be in theaters to see this action movie.

Will you?

Who cares, they don’t even have to go to Korea and that movie will still make it’s typical millions. They can say and do whatever the hell they want, skip appearances and it wont matter what Koreans think lol.

  2. Magnolia says:

The movie doesn’t need korean viewer anyways..
Bet they’ll be 15 early if they were in Japan..

    BUMBLEBEEEEEE!
    *remembers his chopped off legs*
    How random and somewhat unrelative.

  4. stars1818 says:

Personally, I found the actors’ tardiness to be rude. They are promoting their movie in another country, and they are late? Very unprofessional.

  5. Biscuit says:

Obviously, I don’t live in Korea but their tardy actions are giving me a bad impression. Doesn’t matter what country it is:

Being late = rude = bad impression.

  6. asianromance says:

did they say why they were late?

  7. coccopuffs says:

I won’t be seeing the second movie. The first one, which I didn’t see until it came out on DVD, barely even held my interest. This movie and the sequel are totally overhyped.

2 hours late to the screening? Wouldn’t that mean they pretty much skipped out on the entire thing? Considering that’s how long the movie probably is. Then, late *again* for the press conference?

Really, rude and unprofessional. They mine as well have just not even bothered stopping in Korea in the first place!

  8. Meagan says:

    WTF?
What could they honestly be doing for two hours? I can’t imagine waiting 20 minutes for someone, let along two whole hours.
I could understand if something legitimately held them back, but did they at least apologize?

  9. bubbles says:

  12. Angela says:

meh b-grade hollywood ’stars’ go to asian country and pretend to be a-listers.. whats new?

not to sound so damn cynical but star appearance delays happen a lot, there are lots of examples of when korean stars were late for their local gigs and hammered for it.. like the article said, those who were offended left and were entitled to do so, those who stayed did their jobs and the show goes on

personally i really liked the first transformers, but i intensely dislike both shia lapoof and megan fox (bc both seem to bank on their offscreen personalities a bit too much to deserve to be taken as serious actors).. ill probably end up watching no.2 out of holiday boredom :D

  13. Melis says:

GOOD i don’t know why actors think they are doing us favors by making movies… I luv me some Shia but that was very very stupid he should have been there when the doors opened.
Jerk…as for Megan …mawhhh so Korea hates her huh, good she can keep her filthy mind of my man Rain.
All that aside why does this movie have so much Megan in it? It’s not about her but the ads and well what i’ve seen makes her the ally for the transformers. RUSHED MONEY HUNGRY BAY.

  14. jo says:

I liked the first Transformers, but I’ve got a feeling the second wouldn’t be as good as first… I’ll still watch I think.

And it wasn’t very nice of them to be so late..

  15. cleanse says:

    Pffst~
Korean actors/singers are ALWAYS hours late to their overseas conferences.

  16. spesho says:

It’s okay for me.. It’s Shia anyways.

  17. Yaleni says:

the first trasnsformer movie sucked. sorry. imo.

Exactly Angela. Also don’t forget Radio interviews or interviews with other media outlets around the world or maybe they just slept in.

  19. yinnie says:

cut them some slack, will ya?
they were probably late because Megan fox forgot to take her hormones put on make-up.

  20. Sarah says:

It’s Megan Fox!! I’d wait for two measly hours to see her! I mean, I do think they should’ve made more of a conscious effort to be on time (besides, they’re in Korea for those events, what else are they doing? Going to jimjilbangs?) but at the same time, it’s Megan Fox!! =P

Btw, I have a girl-crush on Megan Fox, as you can probably tell.

  21. Aqua says:

BVY the showing up late I think that shows how much hey DONT care. For most people, if something is important theytend to prepare for it (and show up on time if it is an event). Or sometimes, even out of respect people don’t show up nearly that late. They might as well have said ” You know, we really dont care….we’re just trying to make an apperance because our company/producer/agent said to. So watch our movies, buy our stuff. Make us rich. Ok? Well, that’s about it…bye now”.

  22. Leona19 says:

i’m not into those kind of movies…i saw the beginning of the first one and i roll my eyes and thought “Really?” I will be waiting for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and The Time Traveler’s Wife.

  23. pinkelephante says:

    lol.

Its different in Korea than america.

in korea, they dont care if you’re the president of the united states, the highest paid actress, you are required to show respect. respect=being on time. once? sure okay im sure something happened. twice? wtc.

and koreans dont care if the actors dont make a stop in korea. we’ll end up watching the movie a month before the actual showing anyway. so why even bother?

  24. loveskpop says:

I think some people here have too much “KP”. If you’re korean you should know what that means. Anyways, guys, America and Korea is different. Maybe they had something important to do. If they were trying to be rude then they wouldn’t have shown up in the first place. Besides, the second movie was wayyy better than the first. Funny and lots of cussing =)
