I think Song Hye Kyo has a natural look. That is why even without any make up, she still looks beautiful. Plus I love those pandas too! They are really cute!

^^SHK is actually one of the front-runners of the Korean Wave because of the drama Autumn Tale. It’s one of the most popular Korean dramas overseas. I don’t know if she is that popular in Japan as she is in China, though. She’s very popular in other countries in Asia, even Southeast Asia.

And for you kingkong, sure she is overrated. But this post is about her being an ambassador. It has nothing to do with her being overrated. I don’t think there is such a thing as an ambassador being overrated. And what’s with this overrated thing anyway? No one is saying, not even the media who adores her, that she is an exceptional actress. She’s just ok as an actress but she chooses her projects very well that why she’s in those popular dramas and made her an A-lister. And with beautiful face, of course it’s a plus. Sure, there’s are others who could act better, but they don’t know how to make name for themselves.

It’s not just about the looks or the talent or a combination of both that makes someone a superstar. There are other things to it. Case in point, the other ambassador in this post – Rain.

is SHK popular outside of korea? <— im asking this qn coz i actually dont know the answer, not to hate on her :) she hasn’t been promoting anything in korea lately from what i know, so has she been active in other countries? i think i saw a few pap pics of her in china.. correct me if im wrong

and rain was in those ‘korea, sparkling’ ads a while ago, i really do think he was one of the original ones (along with bae yongjoon, boa, etc.) to raise korea and its entertainment industry to the popularity levels it currently enjoys in asia.. so kinda makes sense for him to be goodwill ambassador

and seo taeji.. hm ‘mel’ if u think SHK has a cultish following – i think you should take a look at the fans of taeji.. he is like the original idol of korean music, along with H.O.T

I agree she is a very overrated actress that can’t act.
She’s only been successful because people are obsessed with her looks to a cultish degree.
Without that face she’d be nothing.

SHK wouldn’t be so overrated if there weren’t so many plastic actresses out there. She’s considered a commodity I suppose. She has a very delicate neat look about her rather than the exaggerated big eyes and pointy noses. Pretty.
