Oh Snap! SS501 Brings the Drama in
The SS501 boys start their latest drama music video with a Mexican stand-off and continues with a story involving contract killers, forbidden love, possible Stockholm’s syndrome and Hyun Joong really thinking he’s capable of acting. But it’s great! I love the drama but still my favorite drama MV that I’ve seen is “Timeless” by Zhang Ri Yin and Xiah Junsu. Partially because that song is gorgeous and partially because the story is heart-breaking (though made into a movie long before this MV came out).
Back to SS501, I don’t like the song but the MV might make me, check out part one!

HyunJoong’s acting is very impressive in this MV. He makes a cool, yet emotional vulnerable assassin.
I agree with Biscuit. SG Wannabe really made a name for themselves when those MVs came out.
In terms of ballads though, I feel like every single MV is so beautifully done with an amazing storyline. For example, Position’s song with Lee Wan in it made me cry the first time I saw it. And, any Lee Soo Young song is always depressing :P
In terms of Kpop, there are several songs which tell complete stories: Big Bang’s Haru Haru and Crown J’s I will take her away come to mind ^_^
Honestly though, I don’t think anyone has come up with promotions similar to this before. I think SS501’s release of teaser singles and then putting all of the songs into one “movie” is pretty original, no?
