Family Outing fans from around the world were shaken by the news that “Sweet and Savage” Park Yejin and “Clumsy” Lee Chunhee will be leaving the show. One of the two casted to fill those sizable shoes is Park Shi Yeon who will be starting filming her first episode with Korea’s favourite family on the 15th.

As you might guess, she’s pretty damned nervous about it. This will be her first time as a fixed member of a entertainment programme since her debut and she revealed that she is a regular fan of Family Outing. “I like Family Outing so much, that when the call came, I was surprised and worried; I didn’t know how to react. But after talking with the PD, I became more ambitious about the project”.

She says that she is nervous about meeting the Family members that sh has become a fan of like the rest of us. “I have especially strong feelings for Yoo Jaesuk and Lee Hyori since we’ve met before on another variety show.”

She’s showing a bit of apprehension because of how the show stresses broadcasting mistakes and that the production team can be rather cold-hearted. “The present Family members are such powerful characters and Yejin and Chunhee have done so well that it’s hard to bring something new to the show. I’ll try to do the best I can to help around on the show to become more friendly with them.

“I plan on showing a side of me that’s been hidden all this time. Before, other show production teams wanted to present me as effeminate but I’m actually a bit boyish. There are a lot of artificial images for celebrities that broadcasting companies create. I want to take this chance to show that there is more to me than has been shown in previous television shows.

“Family Outing doesn’t have an exact script so I think its more natural and enjoyable to watch. I’m going to do my hardest so I hope the public appreciates if nothing else, at least my efforts”

Park who has just finished filming KBS 2TV’s “Man’s Story” will be joined by the other new family member, Park Hae Jin, to begin filming Family Outing on the 15th and 16th and are due to be aired early July.

I don’t think the two family members can be replaced, but hopefully we get to see this supposed boyish side. I can’t wait to see how she handles fishing lol. Does anyone know is she is older or younger than Hyori?

  2. jxo says:

i think shes younger thann hyori.
im sad that yejin&chunhee are leaving,
but at the same time i cant wait till haejins onn :)

  3. juju says:

It’s true, the family members are powerful characters and it might be hard for her to fit in. She reminds me a bit of Yejin because she’s always been so timid, but I wish her the best of luck cause she is going to need it! Don’t think fans will be too happy about this replacement……..

  4. anna m says:

It’s sad that Ye Jin and Chunhee had to exit FO, but it’s for the better and nothing can be really done about it now and I’m actually excited to see the two new members. It’s like having two newborns as an addition to the family. I don’t expect much.

  5. Pangstar says:

    sometimes PSY kinds scaers me.

  6. opsie says:

It would’ve been awesome if they had asked Lee Jin(Finkl) to join the family! She’s super cute and funny and she’s already friends with Hyori and Yejin! I’m gonna miss the two unnies together!

  7. stasha says:

she’s got big shoes to fill. hope she does well on the show.

  8. chrissa says:

let see how she do & @ jxo she is the same age as hyori

  9. sniffles says:

I wish they had picked more exciting people to match the family’s personality, but oh well…….
I’m gonna cry when there’s no more Chunhee! Hopefully they’ll do a family reunion someday……

  10. Andrea says:

I’m SOO behind on Family Outing. I think I’ll watch though, I’m actually less worried about PSY than I am about Park Hae Jin. I mean, the episode he was on was HILARIOUS but not because of him or anything, in fact very little presence or attention was paid to him despite being a guest star. I think PSY will be fun to watch though, gut feeling.

  11. sunshine says:

    urgh she’s so pretty.

  12. aiey says:

I agree with Andrea, Park Hae Jin was a bit awkward in his guest episode.

  13. bubbles says:

that’s my bitch! it’s gonna be a nice new dynamic

    *though still mourns Yejin’s departure*

  14. NyNy says:

Good luck to the two of them! Can’t wait to see how they will be with the family.

But I prefer the originals Park Ye Jin and Lee Chun Hee, they were perfect with the rest of the family.

I wonder how it will turn out from now on.

  15. spesho says:

I don’t know if I will still watch FO. Both of my favorite members are now gone. Plus I dislike one of the replacements(PSY)…

  16. emofanatic says:

good luck to the show man! Hope her plastics don’t melt under the hot sun when filming!

  17. anna says:

Most of the time it’s scripted anyway, if they don’t like you, they’ll have to pretend that they do anyway, lol. Most characters, I mean members, change over time. They all eventually come to like one another. I’m sure they’ll do fine.

I’ll miss Chunderella the most. Ye-jin is such a pushover sometimes. It’s probably her “character”, but it gets ridiculous. She tries too hard to be cute too. It’s not like I don’t like her, I do sometimes, but I don’t think I’ll miss her too much.

  18. gena says:

It’s sad that Yejin is leaving…..just when she was starting to show more personality! Yejin and Hyori compliment each other so welll(my two fav unnies)!

I’m just gonna bawl after Chunderella leaves! No one, and I mean NO ONE can replace my adorable klutz!
