Brown Eyed Girls vs. 2NE1: It’s ON!
The girl group Brown Eyed Girls announced that they will officially comeback in July to promote their new album. Their last mini-album “My Style” (September 2008) offered techno pop songs but for their new project the girls are said to be working on “classic style songs mixed with funk and urban”. Interesting.
Brown Eyed Girls will be facing tough competition though as other popular girl groups like Kara, SNSD and the newly debuted 4 Minute will also be active this summer. But according to industry insiders, the Brown Eyed Girls’ toughest competition will have to be the “BAMF chicks” of 2NE1.
Both groups have 4 members. Both with hip-hop and R&B background. And with the word “urban” now being thrown around, it looks like B.E.G. might just have another thing in common with 2NE1.

as slack as it sounds, beg cant compete with the tiny tots in regards to popularity. i love them, they’re the only group where every single one of them can actually sing, but everybody likes the youngins. beg was built for singing not singing,dancing and prancing around

2ne1 is way co0ler, and 2ne1 will be successful and will win this competetion…
I prefer BEG
but younger girl groups tend to come out on top, so 2ne1 will probably beat BEG with the chartings. But SNSD’s fans usually dominate album sales so SNSD will probably beat 2ne1 in album sales. 4minutes might be competition but I think that depends on how their mv and debut performance will be.

i can see why BEG vs 2NE1. if you are talking about similar styles or concept, snsd, wg is different from BEG, 2NE1.
but if you compare all girl groups, i think SNSD will ofc dominate album charts and digital sales.
i personally prefer BEG over 2NE1. 2NE1 has some talent (i adore CL homggg and minji splits hurhur), but BEG is more talented and less contrived. 2NE1 is a lot of imaging to live up to the female counterpart of BB in YG. unforct, i think BB’s style is mostly theirs (you cant deny the stylist completely cmon), 2NE1’s style is.. largely an image created by YG and stylists.
BEG is definitely the most vocally talented of all the girl groups making a comeback. I would love for them to come up on top but I doubt it

I love beg too but i happen to adoreeeee/love 2ne1 so they have my vote.

What does BAMF mean?
Popularity wise it seems that 2NE1 is a bit more appealing, but I think they’re acting a bit too “sexy” (minji and cl are a little too young for that).
i hope it’s BEG since they since they have so much more talnet then any of ther other girl groups named. but since it’s all about popularity and how big ur fanbase is in korea and not actually talent i’ll have to say it’s porbably gonna be 2NE1 or SNSD
I’m rooting for B.E.G; but truthfully, I think it will be 2NE1. We know how big YG family fans support these girls. So yeah, it will be 2NE1.

i’ve not heard of BEG but from the picture they look more appealing than KARA and SNSD (JEWELRY and T-ARA i’ve never even seen a picture of)
But i’d still put my money on 2NE1 (they beat the other groups to the debut podium so their fan base is bigger)
In terms of concept it think BEG’s biggest competition is gonna be from 2NE1 and 4MINUTE
tough call, they both have pretty good rappers. in my opinion. but in a way they’re totally different coz BEG is more feminine and 2ne1’s like in-yo-face lol. both bands are awesome so its a tough call for me.

In terms of singing ability, it’s funny how two of the girl groups who I consider very underrated (BEG with their lack of dance ability) and KARA (with their lack of appropriate promotions) have the, IMO, best voices as a group.
We’ll see though. I’m looking forward to this “battle”. However, if it’s anything like the “battle” we had a couple of months ago with the guy groups, then… it’s not a battle at all neh? lol

When it comes to vocals, Brown Eyed Girls win. But 2NE1’s definitely got the dance moves. Plus BEG’s rapper is amazing, when she raps she doesn’t sound like she’s just rapping trying to sound hardcore. She seriously has personality when she raps live. That’s why I love her. 2NE1’s got nothing on BEG’s vocals with only the exception of their dance.
I like B.E.G a millions times more than all these other girl-groups that will be promoting during this summer. Their “My Style”-album was freakin’ awesome and I can’t wait for their return.
However, I do not think that they can take on SNSD, 2NE1 and all these other manufactured girl-groups. They are really popular and are basically idols(sings,dances,tv-shows,cf etc) while B.E.G are made for the purpose of being singers(which they do awesomely btw). They are not very good at dancing and they will not be popular on these variety-shows that the koreans love to watch. Ugh.

I love BEG and if you had to compare them to 2NE1, 2NE1 would be going down (‘cept for dancing part). BEG has amazing vocals, Miryo is probably the best female rapper I’ve heard alongside with Yoon MiRae. Talented group. Excited for their comeback.

First of all they all have gooood powerful vocals(well sandara has the softer cute voice)
Second their english is like da bomb and they sound good..i don’t think they have any US background and their english is better than my mom whose been here for like 40 years.
Third they have a powerful fierceness.
Fourth They’re different from other girl groups making them very unique.

i agree with greygoose up there. im starting to like BEG. yes they might not really be a dancy group but i dont care. i dont buy albums cause artists can dance. i wanna know if they can sing. and beg imo, beats any of the above groups hands down in terms of vocal capability and potential.

4 minute is the crappiest shit ive ever seen in kpop. honestly. just seeing hyun-ah is such a turn off, and the entire group is centred around her solely im left wondering why they even bothered to form a group and just let her go solo instead. though with her vocals i doubt she would get anywhere.
I’m going with B.E.G I like their style of music and concept more than 2ne1. I know 2ne1 goes for the whole rebellious bad girl thing but I am LOVING B.E.G’s whole fashion forward “classy city party girl” style. It’s so classy and refreshing, plus I love urban techno sound and Lady Gaga, and they resemble that with the new album alot so…

2ne1….I’m with 2NE1 on this. rookies vs. seniors?hehe kinda hard to swallow but 2ne1 being compared with them(BEG) is a great compliment for the girls(2ne1)coz BEG is good. I’m feeling the HIPHOP-R&B on 2ne1 more and with the addition of reggae on Fire and IDC…HOT!
Its 2ne1 of course most of BEG song are more digitalize thats why i dont think they are good vocals!!
When I saw BEG’s MV, their voice is not as good as somebody here have claimed. And the MV is more of sex than quality music. I can’t believe they are k-pop artist, I’m so used to conservative image of many artists here in korea.

2NE1 have the advantage called Big Bang, because BB’s fan base basically turns to 2NE1 in order to get their hypebeast music while waiting for BB to return.
