BoA song on “So You Think You Can Dance”
Oh SNAP. BoA is making some serious waves here. Sure a song on So You Think You Can Dance isn’t a huge deal but when you’re a huge fan of the show (like me) and you’re sitting defenselessly on your couch (like I was last night) and then out of no where, on of the contestants (Asuka) starts dancing her butt off to a BoA song (which is what happened!!) shock over comes you (and it did).

It was so awesome. Her popularity sales on iTunes for “Did Ya” soared through the roof just a few hours after the show ended! It more than doubles the sales for “I did it for love”
OMG I saw that too! i was sooo happy for BOA and the song was good, I hope it stirs some stuff up for her. AND ALL LOVE FOR ASUKA, she rocked it out.

If you look at her album sales, you’ll see most americans think that way too.
Americans create fake words in their songs atleast what boa is saying acutally is in the dictionary. Boa english is good I can understand what she is saying. Lady Gaga is american, in her song “Just Dance” she creates some random word out of the blue because it rhymed. Lots of artist in america create odd words but yet they sell. Just because she has an accent( sean paul, kingston)? BoA Is way better than brittney spears by miles,I don’t think should even be compared to her Brittney can’t even dance!!

the parts of song that I can hear words that sound like english is in the chorus and even then. People don’t stress the importance of enunciation in singing anymore.

CheeChee, congratulations you must have the world’s most extraordinary listening and comprehending skills to understand that mindless dribble. Maybe you’re not familiar with the American culture, but Asian accents is a no-no. Spanish, island, and other accents are perfectly acceptable. You ignorance just goes to show how little you know about what you’re saying. Regardless, BoA has more than a “little accent” she has a thick accent, limited knowledge of what she’s actually singing about, and “I Did It For Love” makes absolutely no sense, sans Sean Garett.
Americans can get away with changing the language because they can actually speak it. Its cool to make up words and sometimes witty – when you actually know a language. Its not cool to rhyme “Used to be” with “History” because you just learned the basic phonetics of the English language.
BoA’s a poser.
Say what you want about Brittney and Lady GaGa, they already have a thriving American career and BoA’s not doing anything that they haven’t already done better. BoA isn’t anymore original and belongs in the same trash heap as they do. She’s a basic rip-off, a non-English speaking rip-off, and I can’t wait until America chews her up and spits her out.
Although, Lady GaGa is an infinitely more talented singer than she’ll ever be, so at least she has vocal merits.

Saying American pop and its artists suck, then praising BoA for becoming a carbon-copy, copious auto-tune included, and making repetitive pop complete with ridiculous lyrics, is just as bad as disregarding her because she’s Asian.
So what, she’s Korean, lame pop is lame, mediocre music is mediocre, average vocals are average. Don’t knock other artists for their unoriginality, then turn and praise one for doing the same.
I’m grading BoA based on what she’s putting out and so far its been just as much suck, unoriginality, and uninspiring nonsense that American pop has put out. It has a nice beat, like so many other songs. There’s no substance and its all hit-material that caters exclusively to the American tastes. Congratulations BoA, you’re a wonderful imitation, the perfect copy. Now, you can join the ranks of Soulja Boy, Rihanna, Katy Perry, T-Pain and others who make hit music, sell a lot of albums, and are heard all over the radio.
I know that many of you will get pissy over my harsh, but true words. I could care less, however, tell me – should I be impressed by music that doesn’t sound any better than what’s already out there or sounds exactly the same?
I know that everyone’s craving an Asian face, but lowering standards is lowering standards.

I was happy to hear BoA’s song on SYTYCD (even if it’s only like 30 seconds), but I thought Asuka’s solo was disappointingly weak (even though I should support her because she’s representing the Asians). However, the song was Asuka’s personal song choice- so the appearance of the song on the show doesn’t stand out as much as if one of the choreographers chose it. Adding to that, over 150+ songs will get played over the course of the season….so we can’t really celebrate a huge victory for BoA there.
And I wish that people would stop calling BoA the korean britney spears. It would have been an apt description during Britney’s earlier years, but now Britney’s style and image is different. They could have just referred to BoA as the pop princess of Asia.

Vote for Asuka next week not because she used Boa’s song or because she’s Asian, but because she’s one of the bottom couples now and you can’t blame her for it. All the other couples got awesome choreography and got to dance in their specialty except her and her partner. Asuka & Vitolio got stuck with the worst choreography and thats why they were in the bottom 3.
this is a huge victory for BoA!!! no matter what anyone says. To be in the beginning stages of a U.S. singing career is not the easiest place to be. however, BoA’s song was played on the U.S. national television. plus all of BoA’s american fans who had no idea she even had a new english album could go buy it. even on top of that, this could even lead to her music being played on the radio nation wide.
and what’s the point of comparing BoA to Britney and lady ga ga. i understand why someone would BoA’s american music sounds like the other pop stars and there’s a pretty good reason why…it’s because that’s who’s popular now!!! Rock-emo music was popular for awhile, and everybody came out and made a rock-emo album. but you can’t blame BoA for trying to get the attention of america by sounding like the pop stars america likes.
so anyway, BoA rules!! i’m so happy to hear her music on television. and i can’t wait for her to blow america away her true musical talent that she’s has yet to show the U.S.
