Epik High live in NYC

Who was in the audience at the NYC show? Can I get a “hellllll yeah” for that concert?!

Last night, Epik High, along with Far East Movement and Kero One, took the stage at The Fillmore in New York City and all in all, they had a massive audience pumped and on their feet for a good three hours. Energy filled the entire room and there was an unbelievable amount of excitement. Fans got more and more psyched as time approached for Epik’s performance. (Also, I’ve never been in a hotter place in my life and I know that the heat and closeness was supposed to cultivate even greater love for the people performing but really, with all that sweat oozing out, it felt like we were all showering. Together. I know you liked that image.)

I’ll save my words for later, but for now, I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. Seoulbeats presents: Epik High in NYC.

The guys were set to appear for a red carpet appearance/press conference at around 5:30PM and long before the SB crew even arrived, the fans lined up. Some of these guys lined up for a good fourth of the day and the block around The Fillmore seriously showed — it wrapped around the block twice and it was just insane.

(To the girl in the far left of the first pic giving us the “V” sign, thanks for being such a good sport, ha!)

Check out our interview with the fans:

PRESS CONFERENCE

Once inside, press lingered around for a bit before Far East Movement was announced to be the first group to come out.

These guys are the best dressers in the world and are amazingly energetic and friendly. (I also gots myself a new crush — you know, that Kevnish feller.)

After FM answered some questions, Epik High, Kero One and Dumbfounded came out together in one large group.

CONCERT

Dumbfounded was the MC of the night, with Kero One and Far East Movement opening the concert. These guys really know how to get an audience pumped with their melodic beats and tight rapping.

Kero One performed for about 45 minutes before the next act came out. The Far East Movement guys presented themselves and rocked the hell out of their spacesuits and gave a grand slammin’ performance of their hits.

And then, without further ado, Epik High took the stage with MYK and Beatbox DG.

The guys performed tracks off their latest Map the Soul album, including “Believe,” “Cipher,” “Top Gun,” and of course, “Map the Soul.”

MYK also performed a few songs off his upcoming album. Can’t wait to hear more from this guy.

And it wouldn’t be an Epik concert without “One.”

(One of the few times Tukutz was away from his DJ table!)

The guys performed “Fan” as their encore song — which is really the perfect way to do it — and we ended the night with lots of Tukutz face time and a little dance from him. Can’t beat that.

Listening to these guys live is a completely different experience than doing it through headphones, no doubt. They all have so much energy and love for what they do — it’s really one of a kind. For all those who were at the show, share your experiences with us! We hope you had a great time, because we definitely did.

i was like OMG that is the seoulbeats crew!

my friend and i got to the venue about 2PM and there wasn’t that many people in front of us…
although people started to cut in front of us since the line got longer.
since it was only two of us we jetted when those doors opened.

we were pretty close to the stage that i felt tablo and mithra’s water.
the place was so HOT! it was like a sauna with sweat all over the place, sharing sweat, and voices dying out from all the screaming… but WHO CARES!

from beginning to end the concert was BUMPING
i loved every moment of it

although i have to say i am truly upset with myself from not upgrading to the VIP tickets after i bought them from the Hiro Ballroom… but i am proud to have shared the floor with so many Epik High fans jumping and singing to all the songs in unison

  10. njnets27 says:

they were amazing…by the end of the night i had lost my voice completely, but it was a small price to pay to bask in their limelight…

you’d think that after waiting on line for over 2 hrs that I would barely be able to stand any longer…but, once tablo, mithra and tukutz came out I was jumping up and down for the next 3 hrs.

just goes to show you how much power there is in beautiful music…i love epik high!

  11. Cristy says:

I was in the front to fourth row during Epik High’s performance, and they were so good. I loved “One,” “Love Love Love,” “Fly,” and “Fan.”

  24. grace says:

I was at the Seattle concert and it was FANTASTIC.
But really, your showering imagery is so dead on. I was so unnecessarily afraid that I was going to catch swine flu. Geez.

But in Seattle, they sang “Breakdown” just for us. :)
