This might mean squat to many of you, but Dong Bang Shin Ki is having the final leg of their “Secret Code” tour at Tokyo Dome and Cassies are excited. Why? For starters, the Tokyo Dome is the largest concert facility in Japan and only the most celebrated artists get to perform there. Foreign artists who have performed there have included mostly American artists, such as Mariah Carey, Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Madonna, and Billy Joel. Japanese artists who have performed there in the past include Arashi, Kat-tun, Ayumi Hamasaki, and Koda Kumi. The only Korean artist to ever perform there was Rain.
The boys have always expressed how big of an honor it will be for them to perform their own concert at the Tokyo Dome, since the first time they ever made an appearance there was for Koda Kumi’s “Black Cherry” concert to perform “Last Angel.”
The concert hall seats about 45,000 and they will be performing there on July 4th and 5th.
Check out their performance here (best performance of “Last Angel” imo):
I read it seats 55,000. Either way a very VERY big accomplishment for Tohoshinki. And they have for not just one but two days…wow.
Koda Kumi is soo tiny compared to DBSK.
hahaha, it was a good performance (:
Aubergine,
I can kind of guess where you read the 55,000 stat, but honestly, it has the seating capacity of up to 55,000 seats, but there are only actually about 42,000-45,000 available slots for audience members to sit. That kind of confuses me, but I’m guessing that if the dome had NO stage, then where the stage would be could seat about 10,000, adding to the 55,000 number. But otherwise, the actual number of people that can attend a concert is about 45K.
Hope that’s not too confusing ._.
^Yeah I figured you factored in the stage. O_o @ 3:02-3:05–> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqTkiSb-aHY …. That is HUGE!
Rain is not the only Korean artist, Ryu Shi Won is another one.
AWESOME. Another one of their dreams came true.
Congrats to them!
i heard kat-tun will have a concert there for 8 straight days(lol random).
OMG TOKYO DOME! wow! i remember when they got to perform at budoukan. and now TOKYO DOME. that’s something. i’m so excited. can’t wait to see the dvd. LOL
they’re one of a very FEW artists that can turn crap into gold, props for them
Wow! Rain was the only Korean artist to perform there? Go Rain^_^
Putting that aside, im really proud of DBSK=] They have come so far!!
TVXQ Fighting :D
i just hope they fill up all the seats!! *cough*rain*cough*
ANYWAYS. YEAY!!!! these boys would prolly cry again^^;;;
Haha I’m aware that to perform at Tokyo Dome means you’re big in the Japanese entertainment industry. Congrats to the boys!
sheittt. I would hate to be the people at the back, [might as well buy the dvd.]
thats really great! i think they will have no trouble filling up those seats with the power of Avex Trax to promote them.
Tokyo Dome is ridiculously massive. the ppl sitting at the back can barely make out the performers on stage lol. and yeah, this is a pretty big deal. Mostly only Johnny boys have the guts to do such huge-scale concerts. So congrats to Tohoshinki.
This performance of Last Angel is best vocally, but their T tour performance had WAY more energy and they really hyped up the audience so the atmosphere was intense… that to me was the best Last Angel performance.
Alright!! Awesome!!
amazing place, tokyo dome. its… so damn large, i wonder how people dont get lost inside already. maybe they do. LOL.
well, congratulations dbsk.
its quite feat.
ahh Rain’s concert there was awesome…
:)
you know where else? the Tokyo Olympic Stadium.
it seats around 70,000 people. Arashi included that place in their Asian Tour.
Rain and Ryu Shi Won may have their concert there before but their doing that while reading the hallyu wave.
To add, DBSK have their arena tour this year (with approximately 190.000) audience (it’s already sold out).
As THSK, they came a long way (4 years!!!) to reach their dream to perform in Tokyo Dome. They got through the language, culture, and boyband barrier in Japan.
I think they are the only boyband (from Jpop) who perform in DOME outside JE.
I’m sooo happy with this news.
RAIN COULDNT FILL THE HOUSE!
Yay for DBSK!
Well, since I’d have to fly over an ocean to get to Japan,
I geuss I’ll just buy the DVD^^
i just hope they can just fill it up for those two days.
I personally prefer the performance of Last Angel from the T Concert DVD (Koda Kumi’s entrance was epic!!! xD), but this one is great too…
Well, congrats to DBSK. Their dreams are coming true one by one.
And they really did work hard to get there.
They’ll do well ^^
Excuse me, jeniferrr (with 3 Rs), but Rain managed to fill 43,000 of that 45,000 seating capacity, thank you very much.
And orenji, Rain and RSW did it while riding the hallyu wave? Then what do you think this is with DBSK? Sure, they’re massively popular in Japan but they also started getting big in Japan while riding the Hallyu wave. And if I’m not mistaken, Rain had his concert there after all the negative stuff about him due to the cancellation of concerts in the US. I don’t know about RSW’s but Rain had his concert there as part of his “World Tour”.
Btw, I believe orenji was a former Rain fan, right? :) Just asking. :)
Anyway, good luck to these boys. Wherever they are, the place is always jampacked.
(Is going to save up and buying the DVD even though she doesn’t understand a even a bit of Japanese.)
I’m so glad for the boys! They’re doing great~ If only they’d come back to Korea already. >_<
