Poster and Teaser for Park Chan Wook’s ‘Thirst’
The poster and teaser video for director Park Chan Wook’s much anticipated film Thirst have arrived! The movie stars Song Kang Ho (The Host, Memories of Murder, JSA), Kim Ok Bin (drama Over the Rainbows) and Shin Ha Kyun (Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Welcome to Dongmakgol). It’s about a priest who turns into a vampire and does naughty things with his friend’s wife. It is also the first Korean movie to be funded by a major Hollywood studio. (Universal, in this case.)
The poster is certainly provocative and leaves a strong impression. The first time I saw it, I spent a good amount of time just looking at it, thinking how odd it was. I was trying to find out what was wrong with it, until I looked at this amended version of the poster and realized that it was her legs that were bothering me so much. (The poster was censored due to the government’s opinion that it was “unsuitable for teenagers”).
Don’t you think this is so much better? It doesn’t look as awkward.
Thirst is set to be released in April.

The legs were there to show the provocative side of the film as well as to mimic the figure of a bat, which is the literal translation of the title.
It’s a lot more interesting with the legs in it methinks.

Im kind of iffy with kim ock bin. But song akng ho and park chan wook are the best! KOB got a hard role that many top actresses turned down so this is might be a deal breaker for her!
yep, I agree with illdielaughing on this one. the poster looks bland without the legs, and the leg imagery is kind of crucial in trying to portray the seductive elements of the film.
The first one looks better, ’cause after seeing the first one the second one looks empty

Oh my, that certainly is… artistic. I actually like the leg version better because it creates more tension (not that it needs it…). I’m not sure I want to see this haha..

it’s a GREAT idea, but the cropping makes it look too busy. i thought of a spider more than bat, cos it’s just too squished horizontally. then again w/o the legs, it’s just like that shin ha-kyun movie THE GAME, w/ 2 flipped heads. oh well. looking forward to seeing ok-bin’s ta-tas LOL
