Big Bang = Big Bucks
Big Bang generated 40 billion Korean Won ($26.4 million) last year.
While this number sounds like a standard corporate comment, the real kicker is the historic comparison. “The revenue [for YG Entertainment] coming in Big Mama, Wheesung, Gummy, and Se7en combined was 13 billion KRW (around $8.5 million).”
Moo! Cash cow Big Bang is worth over three times as much as Big Mama, Wheesung, Gummy, and Se7en combined!
According to YG, Big Bang has the advantage of being flexible and finding their feet through trial and error. CEO Yang claims that he didn’t “manufacture” Big Bang but that “the group grew and evolved with their mutual relationships.”
In regards to Big Bang’s future, CEO Yang plans to release Big Bang gifts, game characters, and music-related memorabilia to make the boyband a lasting brand name. Yang also wants Big Bang and their fans to grow old together for the next ten, twenty years.
It’s nice and dandy so long as they keep bringin’ in the dough. Otherwise, they’ll be left to fend for themselves like poor Se7en in America.

of course he didnt promote big mama, wheesung, and gummy a lot because they were initially part of the sister company m-boat. If anything he shouldve mentioned Lexy, 1tym, Jinusean, YMGA, Moogadang, S.Wit, Kim Ji Eun. se7en was solo so he really didnt make much as five ppl. you have to consider the money from very small featurings,producing/composing/songwriting that GD does so he gets more money. then each of the other members are everywhere earning individual money. and then you also have to consider the lifeless stupid teens that waste money on random ‘Big Bang’ items.
I think the money they make is coz of fangirls like me! heheh.. Seriously, though, what makes Big Bang a cash cow is the versatility of the members. YG can put them anywhere and they work hard to excel.They have other talents other than singing. They dabble in acting, hosting, producing and fashion designing. Also, it’s because some Asian countries (e.g. Korea, Japan), from what I’ve seen, have an obsession over boy bands. Not much love for individual singers…
