The MTV U Clean Beautiful Digital World Special Concert, held to combat negative comments on the internet, brought out big headliners such as SNSD, The Wondergirls, Son Ho Young, Tei, FT Island, SHINee, Brown Eyed Girls, Wheesung, Seeya, and Younha.
With the handful of suicides this past year, netizens should realize the potential impact of their hurtful words. Online criticism has gotten out of hand and needs to be addressed, and while their intentions were admirable, was a concert the most appropriate way? Putting on a concert to shed light on online criticism is as irrelevant as when k-pop stars came out to advocate against illegal music downloading.
To expect people to take this matter seriously, they should have gone about it in a more serious manner, like sitting down to talk about the issues at hand. By the end of the concert, fans were so busy enjoying themselves, they probably forgot why they were even there.
Check out some pics below:

2am – This picture is just asking for an online beatdown.

2pm – We don’t even want to look at our JYP-hand-me-downs.

Brown Eyed Girls – We’re sick of hearing our songs too.

FT Island – I borrowed this vest from my pal Big Foot.

SHINee – Welcome to our house. Please remove your shoes here.

SNSD – How much longer do we have to hold these lollipops?

The Wondergirls – Why are we even here? Everyone knows we can’t sing live.
